"Exact continues its commitment to provide QuickBooks and Great Plains users with industry-leading manufacturing solutions that are easy to use and cost effective to implement," said Mitch Alcon, President, Exact Americas. "MAX 5.5 provides advanced functionality that allows SMB’s to manage strict compliance and regulatory requirements as well as flexible manufacturing processes needed to be successful in today’s environment."
New, Customizable Look and Feel
In MAX 5.5, users can now customize both the look and the content of their MAX screens, making it easy to create, update and maintain personalized information. Users can:
- Choose from and personalize a variety of colors and styles
- Access moveable, drag and drop menus and toolbars
- Set up user-preferred shortcuts
- Create screen-specific notes at the user or administrator level
- Add their own user designed fields to the system
- Conduct web-based project management that is integrated with project accounting
Lot and Serial Enhancements
With MAX 5.5, users can now customize Lot and Serial Number implementation according to the level of flexibility and compliance needed in their businesses. For example, parts can be assigned to groups based on manufactured vs. purchased parts, specific commodity codes or individual parts. Group settings such as prefixes, ranges, quarantine and decimal places provide incredible flexibility to categorize your parts as per business needs. Unique lot numbers and unique serial numbers can be enforced across the MAX 5.5 system and the requirement of some defense contractors and others to allow serial numbers to be duplicated for the same part in different lots is also supported.
MAX 5.5 allows users to maintain a library of alternate manufacturing processes including Bill of Materials (BOMs) and Routings, which makes it easy for users to pick the processes on order release or for simulation purposes. Alternates can be selected at the time of order entry, approval or release, for a particular MRP run, updating standard costs, cost simulation or building according to version.
